“Pulsating, breakneck, synth freak out” - Consequence of Sound
|
We are very excited to announce the release of our first single "Animus Maximus" taken from our debut album "White Noise Riot" released on 1st July via MMRecordings.
The track is available for free via Bandcamp (or name your price, all donations to support us massively appreciated) and Soundcloud. Hope you enjoy it and please let us know what you think. Cheers! Spawned from an earlier electro collaboration ‘The Vanity Clause’ which fused the pairing of Russell Harris and Darren Pain, Go Yoko began their music journey in 2011 being asked to play the UK’s legendary Glade electronic festival then swiftly propelled forward to a special Mute records weekender in London where they supported Andy Bell in the presence of the iconic Vince Clark and AddNtoX. Still merely in their infancy and armed simply with their debut EP “Uno”, the duo proceed onwards bouncing comfortably in that space of dancefloor reserved for the alternatives.
The Essex group now have their first full album in construction and due for release in Summer 2013. Whilst drawing inspiration from the live energy experienced from cross genre festival legends such as Orbital and the Chemical Brothers, Go Yoko show textural influence from angular electronic and New Wave acts like Fad Gadget and Cabaret Voltaire. Adding to this twisting Motorik beats, the love of geek-fi/fantasy and John Carpenteresque cinematic themes to give the duo’s own unique blend of dystopian seaside rave. “Rigged with a heavy dose of roaring synth buzzes, spacey keys and booming beats” – Beats and Beyond |
